Control the lightsaber with your android device.
This project idea is inspired by the VR game Beat saber. I was curious to see if I can do a similar game like that but with smartphone as the controller. I initially thought I will be able to pair with bluetooth, unfortunately bluetooth support is not available in browser yet. So I created a small nodeJS server and the phone sends its sensor data via websockets to the desktop browser or wherever you have the game running.
This only runs in Chrome and an Android device is needed. And make sure you are going to the HTTPS webpage both on desktop and smartphone. Go to the app and follow the instructions accordingly.

The idea for this app is great and I think it could be really fun if it worked well. Pairing between the phone and computer worked well and was quick though the ID to enter was long. It would have been nicer if the number was shorter or a QR code could have been scanned or something to speed up that process. The control was awkward and it felt like the forward/backward direction on my phone was registering opposite on my computer from what I was actually doing. So it was hard to control.
Great idea and there's definitely a cool game in the making here but it needs more work.
This is bananas! I found it difficult to map my phone movements to what I wanted out of the saber, but still had a bunch of fun waving it around. Nice execution.
A really nice idea. The control process probably needs some calibration - I've missed all the cubes, but the lightsaber motion was truly following my phone movement. That's cool!
