Create and add to your Spotify playlists by finding other songs similar to those you specify or matching tags based on last.fm data.

Description

Search for songs or pick from songs in any of your Spotify playlists to use as a seed to search for other similar songs or using tags from last.fm. Once search results are returned you can select as many songs from the results as you wish and either create a new playlist or add to an existing playlist in your Spotify account.

Instructions

  1. Log in with your Spotify credentials (Spotify premium account required for full functionality)
  2. On the Search page you can either:
    1. Enter a search string into the search field (will search for matching song titles or artist names) or
    2. Select one of your existing playlists from your Spotify account
  3. You will be presented with results matching your search
  4. Select one song from the results
  5. Select your filter criteria from the bottom panel that slides up presenting you with options to either:
    1. Select the button "Find Similar Songs" to find songs similar to the one you selected
    2. Select an option from the "Filter Tags" to pick a last.fm tag to use to find songs annotated with that same tag
  6. Click the button to "Find More Songs"
  7. You will be presented with results matching your filter criteria
  8. Select as many songs from the results as you wish
  9. To create a new playlist with the selected songs:
    1. Select the tab in the control panel titled "CREATE A NEW PLAYLIST"
    2. Enter the name to be used for the new playlist
    3. Click the "Save" button
  10. To update an already existing playlist from your Spotify account with the selected songs:
    1. Select the tab in the control panel titled "UPDATE A PLAYLIST"
    2. Click on the Search icon
    3. A dialog will display listing all of your Spotify playlists
    4. Click on the playlist you wish to update
    5. Click the "Save" button
  11. You may continue to add songs from this page to playlists repeating steps 9 or 10 above
  12. If you wish to start a new search click the Search icon in the header
